Chief Executive Officer (Part Time) – 30 hours per a week

Salary circa £58,368pa


The Lower Severn Internal Drainage Board, a public sector body with statutory responsibility for the management of water levels and flood prevention, invites applicant for the post of Chief Executive Officer to head the organisation.

The successful applicant will be expected to work a 30 hour week (additional hours may be required from time to time) at the Board’s offices near Thornbury and will be the most senior of the Board’s Managers. The facility to work from home for some of these hours will be available by agreement. They will be directly accountable to the Board and its Chairman acting as the Board’s principal advisor, responsible for the efficient management of the organisation, ensuring its key strategic and policy objectives are met having regards to the resource available.

The person appointed will be a suitably experienced individual used to working in a statutorily regulated environment. Whilst no specific career background is sought it would be a distinct advantage to have experience of handling and advising formal meetings on policy, procedure and managing staff.

The successful candidate’s confirmation in post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
