The LSIDB &

government agencies

DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) is the government agency responsible for the work undertaken by the LSIDB, and also directly supervises all main watercourses. The LSIDB also works closely with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities, and Local Authorities surrounding planning issues.

Our partnerships with DEFRA and the Environment Agency ensure effective water management and environmental stewardship across the UK. Over the last five years, we've successfully applied for £X million pounds of funding, delivering schemes that protect an area totalling over XXXXX hectares. Did you know?

Oversight of IDBs falls under the purview of the Environment Agency and the Natural Resources Body for Wales.

In the UK, there are approximately 112 IDBs in England, 2 in Wales, and 1 in Scotland.
